The most indispensable ingredient of all good home cooking: love for those you are cooking for” – SophiaLoren
Hello and Welcome to A Taste of Joy and Love! I’m so excited you’re here!
I’m Amy, a full time accountant during the day but really a passionate lover of food all time. When I’m not in the office balancing the books or at home chasing around my 3-year-old toddler, you’ll find me here at this little corner of the internet.
My mother taught me “Cook your food with joy & love, and your food will taste more delicious because you cook it with passion”. I remembered when I was little and whenever we have family gathering, it’d take days and night just to prepare the food for the family event. And as curious as any little girl, I’d followed my aunts around the kitchen, offered my help. There were no recipes to follow back then, it was more of an estimate on the ingredients but the food came out perfect every single time!!! As I grew older and we moved to the United States, I’d helped my mom cook for the family and learned some kitchen techniques from her.
A Taste of Joy and Love is all about celebrating good food with people you love. You’ll find a little bit of everything here on the blog. You’ll mostly find here are simple recipes but have an Asian twist to it. Occasionally I’ll share some of my favorite Vietnamese recipes as well as my experience in burning in the kitchen with my baking disaster.
I am currently reside in Northern Virginia with my husband Thien, my baby girl Alexis and my little food catcher Camden (Jindo mixed).
Also, I’m a coffee, noodles and Tacos addict!
Thanks for stopping by!! Cheers to a joyful food journey!
