The easiest homemade dog treat can be made with just a few ingredients readily available in your pantry

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes
Servings 40 medium treats

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter I used reduced fat
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinammon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

For the bacon glaze drizzlings:

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoon oil or bacon grease

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine pumpkin, peanut butter, eggs. Whisk until smooth. Slowly add the flour, baking soda and ground cinnamon. Stir until a dough form. Use your hands to knead until everything is combined.

  3. Use a rolling pin to flatten out the dough. If it's too wet, add a little more flour. Use cookie cutters to cut them into shapes or shape them into small circles.

  4. Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown on top.

  5. In a small bowl, whisk bacon grease and peanut butter. After the cookies are done, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Drizzles the glaze over top of the treats.

  6. Keep these treats in airtight containers in the fridge.
